While many small businesses have survived these times, others are barely surviving the Covid Pandemic.
I spend less time on orders and more time applying to grants. Even though I have more time for those "rainy days" jobs, my ambition to finish them seems to have waned with my ability to shake hands.
Like all things, 2020 wasn't like our normal sales cycle. There were unexpected seasonal and holiday downs. Quinten year's worth of sales reports didn't help us to understand what was going on nor how we could prepare for it.
At first, we weren't optimistic because we didn’t find anything unusual. We did see a slight rise in pinstriping tape sales, probably due to people being bored at home.
Unfortunately, the summer saw sales slow down. It is likely that many people have lost their jobs and have less disposable income.
As autumn approached, we were pleased to notice a slight increase in custom rear-window decals orders and truck lettering orders... probably due to certain restrictions being removed and businesses needing an economical way to advertise.
With the holiday season approaching, we were optimistic once again. However, sales fell by half. This could be due to parents sacrificing presents to provide for their children.
We've all been through ups and downs. They are something we're all familiar with, unfortunately. Superstorm Sandy struck New York in 2012. We were located on Long Island's south shore. Our business was confronted with 5 feet of water...and lost. We suffered a terrible loss. Sandy showed no mercy, destroying equipment worth $25k+ and inventory worth $10k+.
But we won the battle. We rebuilt, purchased new equipment, and outsourced our sales until the company was back in business.
This is our strategy post-Covid. To increase sales, to find new customers, and to establish new relationships. You can see the signs along the highways. If you're honest, your fingers may be crossed.
We are here to help you if your company has been affected by Covid. We understand that even the most generous grants can't stop the mental anguish caused by this Pandemic... the emotional uncertainty... or the incredible sadness at the loss of loved ones.
Yet, I find myself recalling the same feelings as Hurricane Sandy..., and here we are. You can take solace in that, as I do the same.
Window Decals for Trucks, Storefront Lettering, Vinyl Banners, or Vehicle Magnets are great ways to promote your business.
